Thinking and Language

Understanding Psychology Book is what is used to guide this pacing.

There should be a LOT of discussion taking place in the classroom over the topics discussed in this chapter.

Day 1: Students will Divide and Conquer. Half the room gets into multiple small groups and each work on Lesson 1, the other half of the room breaks into small groups and works on Lesson 2. (there needs to be an even amount of groups on each side) Record all vocab and answer all questions in notebook, do the exercises. Each team will record their information on a large Post-It note as a mind-map. The teams will then switch with someone from the other group and record the information from the Post-It to their notebook. Exit Ticket, did working in a group help you today?

Day 2: Students will do the Lab activity as their lesson. Exit Ticket, discuss the activity questions.

Warm Up Options: Day 1 warm-up, do you prefer to work alone or in a small group or both? What are the pros and cons of either? Day 2 warm-up, yesterday we conquered a lot of information in a little amount of time. Was a small group the right choice for that? Should we have done individual or large group? Why or why not?

Day 1 Lab-end of chapter: This lab is PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
