Learning: Principles and APplications

Understanding Psychology Book is what is used to guide this pacing.


There should be a LOT of discussion taking place in the classroom over the topics discussed in this chapter.

Day 1: Students will work through Lesson 1 and 2 and record voabulary and illustrate the diagrams in their notebooks. Discuss as a small group, then as a class, Pavlov's Dog and Skinner's Box as well as the cartoon on page 252. Exit ticket should be the Quick Lab on page 247.

Day 2: Students will Work in their groups going through the Psychology reading on page 254 and answer the questions and Lesson 3 and record vocabulary and answer the questions also. They will discuss as a group, then as a class, if they have any learned helplessness in their life and if they think the study methods offered on page 261 are good options for them, why or why not.


Warm Up Options: Day 1 warm-up, Use the Lab on page 234. Day 2 Warm-up, Read the case study of Little Albert and discuss the Analyzing the case study questions at the bottom of the page. pg. 243
