Body and Behavior

Understanding Psychology Book is what is used to guide this pacing.

6 Expert groups over each Lesson, Psychology reading, and Case study and then GALLERY WALK graphics and answer the chapter questions

There should be a LOT of discussion taking place in the classroom over the topics discussed in this chapter.

Day 1: Students will use large Post-It note paper and work on their chapter, creating a list of important information and making sure to also answer the questions at the end of their section. They will finish by the end of the day. If teacher is a floater, they will keep each period's created material somewhere in the class to put up the next day or can carry it in their push cart.

Day 2: Students will hang up their work and then the teacher will hit each group and they will explain in their own words, in less than a minute, the important take aways from their chapter and what they thought about it. Then the students will walk around the room and answer the questions at the end of each section, using the Post-Its as their reference. The students will NOT use phones to take pictures of each Post-It and then sit down.

Warm Up Options: Day 1 warm up have students tell you the most interesting thing they know about the body. Day 2 warm up, have the students perform the Lab.

Day 1 Lab-end of chapter: For this day's lab, REFLEXIVE REACTION, the students will test their reaction to catching a ruler. Pair them up and have them use a ruler. You will need about 15 rulers, we can borrow from the math department IC as long as they are returned at the end of the day.
